Safety valve overhaul before UDT inspection
A safety valve must open at a pressure setting accepted by the Polish Office of Technical Inspection (UDT). A corroded spring, a leaking seat or an incorrectly adjusted pressure setting can prevent acceptance.
We have years of experience overhauling safety valves and adjusting their pressure settings for UDT inspection. We also refurbish gate valves and steam traps made from steel and acid-resistant stainless steel.
Our approach
- Assess the valve and determine whether to repair or replace it.
- Clean the components, lap the valve seat and replace worn parts.
- Adjust the pressure setting on a test bench.
- Prepare the technical acceptance documentation.
Plan this work before a shutdown, rather than on its last day. A valve that fails its test can delay acceptance of the entire installation.
